Adaptive Reuse Conversion of Factory to Office

 

Tribeca Associates, in partnership with an institutional partner, acquired this well located factory building to capitalize on the migration of high tech companies to the area surrounding Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Tribeca Associates acquired the 3.3 acre site in Cambridge, MA, which housed a 500,000 sq. ft. factory of the New England Confectionary Company (maker of NECCO candy wafers). The Firm successfully directed 36 months of permitting, architectural and engineering master planning, marketing, historic tax credit approvals and design development to successfully execute the redevelopment of the site to commercial office space. Once completed, the firm leased and later sold the property to Novartis, AG for their research headquarters in Cambridge.
